Located north of Colonial Drive, Uptown is an urban neighborhood built around Lake Ivanhoe. Consisting of office and residential space, whether you work and/or live in Uptown, shopping, dining, and nightlife are close by. Uptown is known by locals as the Antique District because of the variety of antique shops along North Orange Avenue. Uptown is also home to the Orlando Ballet.
This historic neighborhood is located in the heart of Downtown Orlando. With shady, tree-lined streets, this residential area contains many bungalows and some of Orlando’s oldest structures. Located just blocks away from Lake Eola Park, residents can enjoy the park’s beautiful fountains, swan boat rentals, and the Walt Disney Amphitheater.
Just east of Lake Eola Heights, Thornton Park is the location of various exclusive restaurants, high-end boutiques, and some of the most luxurious condominiums in Orlando. Thornton Park is one of the most desirable and affluent residential areas in Downtown Orlando and is a great place for young professionals and those who love an active, lively neighborhood.
The Central Business District is Downtown Orlando’s financial district and consists of theaters, museums, and parks connected by public transit. The majority of Orlando’s nightclubs are located here, contributing to the neighborhood’s thriving nightlife. It’s also home to Orlando City Hall and a number of upscale hotels.
Located just west of the Central Business District, Parramore is a diverse residential area that also includes the Amway Center, which hosts the Orlando Magic NBA team, the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center, and the Florida A&M University School of Law. Parramore is often considered to be three separate neighborhoods: Lake Dot, Callahan, and Holden/Parramore.
